Fedders^® Introduces new Ultra-Quiet 13 SEER Electric Air Handlers at 2006 AHR Expo- Integrating engineering enhancements
across the board

Liberty Corner, New Jersey (January 2006) – Fedders Corporation (NYSE: FJC) announces the introduction of its newest generation of 13 SEER Electric Air Handlers at the International Air- Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Exposition (AHR Expo) in Chicago, Illinois, January 23-25. With air handling capacities from 1.5 to 5 tons, the new 13 SEER air handlers feature a number of developments for simpler operation and easier installation, including relocated controls and smaller steel parts.

Designed for ultra-quiet operation, Fedders A Ultra Quiet Series features 3-speed, permanently lubricated PSC motors that are resilient-mounted for virtually vibration-free operation and are multi-positional for upflow, downflow or horizontal left or right air flow with field installed electric heat options up to 20kW. These new U.L. safety-certified Air Handlers are contained in a strong, fully insulated painted steel housing with full 1” foil facing insulation that provides superior insulating properties while eliminating dust and fiber particulates from the air stream.  Standard features also include large panel doors for easy filter replacement, thermostatic expansion valves and built-in time delay relay.  All models above 10kW come standard with breakers.

Additional improvements include:

• Redesigned coil support bracket for universal LH and RH installations
• Ability to add Heat Kit STR label to AH STR plate for easily readable information from the front panel, including heat parameters
• Plastic horizontal drain pan to replace steel pan
• Extruded upflow drain pan fittings replace recessed fittings
• Horizontal knock-outs relocated off radius of front door panel
• “Double” Steel Duct Flanges
• Brackets included with all EEC Heat Kits
• Revised EEC Series heat kits and AH heater boxes with relocated controls and smaller steel parts for an improved fit
