Fedders ® Announces the Introduction of 80% Efficiency Furnaces for 2005

Liberty Corner, New Jersey (September 2005) — Fedders Corporation (NYSE: FJC) has featured a new line of all position 80% Efficiency Furnaces to debut at HVAC Comfortech 2005, the National, Residential and Light Commercial HVAC Seminar and Showcase in Nashville, Tennessee, September 14–17. The new compact designs are some of the smallest in the industry at 35” tall, allowing more freedom of choice when selecting an installation location while also accommodating the 13 SEER “A” coils for today’s more efficient air conditioning systems. All units come standard with low NOX compliant at 80% AFUE, typically an option on competitive products.

“Fedders’ new furnaces provide a tremendous value for both trade and consumers,” stated Todd Duckwitz, Senior Manager Product Planning, Residential HVAC. “Loaded with features that typically come standard, these furnaces are also built with heavy gauge aluminized tubular heat exchangers, completely weld free with double the standard requirements for life cycle with no signs of wear or corrosion. • Easy-install accessory terminals for humidifiers and air cleaners
• Honeywell® Smart Valve™ II ignition systems and gas controls with self diagnostics for proven reliability
• Inducer fan provides precise air intake for optimum combustion and very low noise levels
• Available in sizes ranging from 35,000 to 135,000 BTUH input
