New Fedders ® Brand Ductless Mini-Split Air Conditioners
Offers a Powerfully Quiet Alternative for Homes and Commercial Applications
Liberty Corner, New Jersey (September 2005) — Fedders Corporation (NYSE: FJC) will feature its new Ductless Mini-Split Air Conditioner line at HVAC Comfortech 2005, the National, Residential and Light Commercial HVAC Seminar and Showcase in Nashville, Tennessee, September 14–17. The Ductless Mini-Split is an affordable and economic air conditioning solution, particularly in older homes where it can be more difficult from a structural standpoint and more costly to install ducted central air conditioning systems. An alternative to window-mounted air conditioners, the Ductless Mini-Split features a small, attractive rectangular wall-mounted indoor unit with a separate compressor section that sits outside the home or apartment. This design is more aesthetically appealing since it frees up window space, letting in more sunlight. With the compressor outside, it is also significantly quieter than window air conditioners.
“One major advantage of the Ductless Mini-Split is that it provides high cooling power in a compact design,” stated Todd Duckwitz, Senior Manager Product Planning, Residential HVAC. “With Fedders’ 24 volt DC Motor low voltage feature, there is no complicated wiring. Fedders’ Ductless Mini Split is not only cost-efficient and easy to install for the contractor, it also saves energy and installation costs for the consumer.”
The powerful units provide a four-way air discharge deflection and air swing control allowing the user to position the airflow for better air circulation and cooling. For added convenience, the Ductless Mini-Splits also include a one-touch removable inlet grille for easy cleaning. The units feature an anti-mold blower wheel and washable filter. All units have an easy-to-read LED display with nightlight and a 24-hour timer, which helps reduce energy costs. Fedders offers a full line of Ductless Mini-Split units, from 9,000 BTU/hr to 22,000 BTU/hr cool only and heat pump models, providing the flexibility for builders to meet the needs of new home or remodeling work through a single vendor.
