The TRION FM 1000E utilizes the principle of electrostatic precipitation. Dirty air is drawn into the center intake by the motor/blower and through the washable aluminum mesh pre-filter that traps lint and large dust particles.

The remaining particles, some as small as .01 microns, pass into a strong electrical field (ionizing section) where the particulate receives an electrical charge. As air enters the filter, the particles pass through a high intensity electrical field that imparts an electrical charge to the particles. The charged particles then pass through a series of alternately charged collector plates. Pollutants are pulled from the air as they are repelled by plates with the same polarity and attracted to plates with the opposite polarity. Clean air is then discharged in six directions back into the room.
