Board Elects Warren Emley, President, Fedders
China
LIBERTY
CORNER, New Jersey -- June 29, 2005 -- Fedders
Corporation (NYSE: FJC), a leading global
manufacturer of air treatment products, including
air conditioners, air cleaners, dehumidifiers
and humidifiers and thermal technology products,
today announced that its Board of Directors
has named Warren Emley to the newly created
position of President, Fedders China and has
elected him a Vice President of Fedders Corporation.
Reporting
directly to Fedders' President, Michael Giordano,
Mr. Emley has overall responsibility for the
company's eight manufacturing operations in
China. The sales and marketing of all the company's
air treatment products in China, led by Walter
Hawes, Vice President and General Manager, Sales
and Marketing - Fedders China, will now report
to Mr. Emley. In addition, Mr. Emley will continue
to have responsibility for the company's manufacturing
operations in India and the Philippines.
This
new organizational structure will also allow
Fedders International, led by Rick Essex, to
focus on growth in sales and profitability in
key international markets outside of China,
including India, the Philippines, other Asian
markets, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America.
Commenting
on the election of Mr. Emley, Michael Giordano
said, "This is a strategically important
position that Mr. Emley is uniquely qualified
to fill. Being located in China for the past
five years as Vice President, Manufacturing
- HVACR China and most recently as Senior Vice
President, Operations - Fedders International,
Mr. Emley has first-hand experience in and knowledge
of the China market and the requirements to
be successful there. This newly created position
will more closely align Fedders' manufacturing,
engineering and sales organizations in China
and enable Fedders to further expand in this
rapidly growing market."
Mr.
Emley has been with Fedders Corporation for
more than thirteen years and has held positions
of increasing responsibility in the areas of
quality and service, in addition to manufacturing
operations.
